Groundbreaking gamelan innovators SambaSunda have a flair for experimentation with new ideas, both forwards and backwards in tradition. The SambaSunda Quintet toured in February 2012, appearing at Oxford North Wall, Colston Hall (Bristol), Union Chapel (London), Sage Gateshead, Junction Cambridge, Band on The Wall (Manchester), mac Birmingham, The Stables (Milton Keynes), NCEM (York), South Street (Reading), Pontardarwe Arts Centre and Poole Lighthouse.
Aurelio Martinez is the most celebrated Garifuna artist of his generation. He follows in the footsteps of the legendary Parranderos of the Caribbean coast of Central America. Martinez toured in November 2011, appearing at Oxford North Wall, Colston Hall (Bristol), Union Chapel (London), Sage Gateshead, Junction Cambridge, Band on The Wall (Manchester), mac Birmingham, The Stables (Milton Keynes), NCEM (York), South Street (Reading), Pontardarwe Arts Centre and Poole Lighthouse.
DoubleDuo' line-up consists of Iraqi-born and London-based musician Khyam Allami alongside Palestinian oud player Ahmad Al-Khatib and two percussionists - Youssef Hbeisch and Andrea Piccioni.
